Real Fighting! Naginata Basics

Real Fighting! Naginata Basics

Naginata: from medieval battlefields to modern sports halls!

Since medieval times the naginata has been one of the main weapons in Japan’s battlefields. Requiring the use of both sides of the body and with a length over twice that of kendo’s shinai, the naginata takes a lot of skill to be effectively used but those who try it, are immediately captivated! In Real fighting! Naginata Basics the first DVD offering naginata instruction for men, Wataru Suzuki, head-coach of Saitama Sakae High School Naginata Club and All-Japan Naginata champion offers detailed explanation of naginata’s basic techniques, footwork and practice forms.
