Yagyu Shinkage-ryu is famous all over the world as the style of swordsmanship of the Tokugawa shoguns' family.
Tatsuo Akabane, chief instructor of the Kanto Branch of the Shunpukan, fully explains in three volumes the entirety of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu "Genshu Den", the art and techniques of this famous swordsmanship school practiced by the samurai of Edo (old Tokyo).
In this second volume, the Sangakuen no Tachi set with its “engagement in waiting” principle is explained in its Owari Style version together with Shinkage-ryu founder Kamiizumi Nobutsuna’s collection of nine kata (Kuka no Tachi) and its principle of “enticing” and the Tengusho set, the techniques that take shape according to the enemy and his actions.
